Taking care of your mental health with the help of a professional should not be something to be ashamed of. Don’t wait for it to hurt too much.
What we will talk about
Mental Health
Mental health doesn’t only mean the absence of anxiety or depression for example. Everything that can infere with our emotional well-being can cause psychological problems and these determine how we handle stress, relate to others and make choices. Mental health problems are very common and nothing to be ashamed of.
Many of us have some of these issues at least once in a lifetime:
-
- General Anxiety
- Social Anxiety
- Depression
- Post Traumiatic Stress Disorder
- Burnout and Stress
- Low Self-Esteem
Physical Health
Mental health and physical health infuence each other tremendously. Batteling a life-threatening disease will have an impact on our emotions aswell. We only have one body so it’s crucial to take care of it. Our sleeping patterns, diet, exercising, smoking, drinking, doing drugs……it might sound obvious but many people only realize how much better they feel when opting for some healthier changes.
Sexuality
Taking care of your mental and physical health benefits your sexlife too. A healthy expression of sexuality comes in many ways, sometimes ways people may fear others will think are inappropriate. So they don’t talk about it with their families, friends and partners. This can cause anxiety, frustration and shame. With the help of a sexologist you feel safe with you may share your fantasies, fears, experiences and desires about your sexuality without being judged.
Issues with your sexuality could be:
-
- Desire and Arousal disorder
- Gender Dysphoria
- Performance Anxiety
- Sexual trauma/abuse
- “Addiction” to sex/pornography/masturbation
- Pain disorder like vaginismus
- Transitioning
- LGBTQIA+ identity
- Conflict or confusion over sexual orientation
- Issues related to body image
- Shame about certain fantasies (BDSM)
